I love a good mystery novel and this book has me eager to dive in and read more! I love the variety of characters that the author gives the reader. While the title isn't an attention grabber I have to say that the blurb absolutely is for me. Town's peace upended when a rockstar moves to town and the murders begin! That line had me sold! I am eager to dive into this book. It sounds like the author really has something here and it helps that you sound like you enjoyed it so much.

Sounds a well-written murder mystery with complex and eccentric characters, suspense, and a large amount of humor! Plus, it is professionally edited! Not sure it is for me, but it sounds a must-read for fans of cozy mysteries! Thank you for the detailed review! :tiphat:

These characters indeed sound complex and interesting, much like the people we encounter in our very own towns. I wonder why Harley is investigating the mystery and what she uncovers about her past. I like mysteries that aren't especially gruesome, so this is probably a fun book. The whiskey and Dolly Parton angles are a fun addition given the Tennessee location. Great review.

This is a great review. I enjoyed how you described the main characters, and gave us a sampling of some of the humor than runs throughout the book. Again, thank you for the review.

The small town that is the setting of the narrative should be full of mysteries and secrets, as Harley and the neighbors experience strange deaths and criminal plots in the book.

This book seems to be pretty interesting and fun. Old mysteries are always exciting to unravel and Harley discovers a multitude of secrets, lies, and sins, dating back decades which are somehow connected with the present and a handsome rock star who came to their town. It will be interesting to find out what will happen in the book and who the murderer is. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

A really nice and detailed review, which coupled with the sample I read, makes me want to give this a book try. Will be adding this one to my bookshelf.

I can feel that this book contains a lot of love and how to show it. Sacrifices are made and the characters seem to be beautifully written. I am also glad that humor ties it all together. Great review.

As a lifelong resident of a small Southern town, I can relate to the dynamics of small town life. Each small town has it’s eccentric characters and Notchey Creek sounds like it has it’s share. Wonderful review!

I always enjoy a good mystery. You don't often find them with humor woven in, so that is certainly a little different. The cast of eccentric characters is what I am most looking forward to.

aolayide wrote: 17 Mar 2019, 10:07 The first thing that captivated me about "The Mist Rises Over Notchey Creek" by Liz Andrews, is the cover page. I am a fan of good scenery just like what is depicted at the front. Also, the story and mystery about a heroine, supposedly whiskey distillery inheritor who turned into a small-town detective sounds very appealing to me. It has a good plot too. This book is going on my To Read List.

I love murder mysteries and will definitely have to check this one out - even if reading of a woman turn down Harvard for that reason did make my gut wrench! Thanks for the review.
