All Good Things is a very well written and edited book. It kept me interested to the very end and was not predictable. The author, Rosemary Reeve, developed the characters well enough so that the reader might feel they were part of the plot. I give this book 4 out of 4 stars because of the writing and the fact that I was interested in reading to the conclusion. I also enjoy a book wherein, the ending is not what is expected. I can’t really think of anything negative about the book, as I enjoyed reading it and looked forward to the conclusion.

The story begins with a disappearance of one of the main characters and through the eyes of Jack, you get to know her and her characteristics. Harmony, an attorney at a firm owned by her father, and Jack, an attorney at the firm, have a close relationship. How close is not clear but doesn’t effect the plot. Jack is the narrator and the story is seen through his eyes. This is because All Good Things is part of the Jack Hart Mystery series. Some fear Harmony is dead but Jack cannot believe it without a body. There are also, several murders to add to the mystery of the disappearance. The trail goes through twists and turns which add to the story. This reader right away, wanted to solve the mysteries and wanted to continue to read for more clues. As the book evolves, more characters are added that are key in solving the crimes.

There is also, a side topic in the book. It was necessary in order to logically explain some things so I was glad Ms. Reeve added these sub plots. Even though these plots involved the Foster Care system and abandonment, which wouldn’t be a topic I want to read about, it was well done and truly added to the story. Jack’s mom is thrown in the mix and helped explain his viewpoint in certain situations. The character of Betsy the dog was a way to support several scenarios, even though, parts of her behavior were a little unbelievable to me.

On a side note, I usually choose a book with at least 300 pages. I downloaded this book in PDF format which claimed to have 300 pages. There was a blank page between each chapter. With 58 chapters, that left it short of the advertised 300 pages.

If you enjoy a good, well written mystery, without a lot of bloody violence and plenty of twists to keep you guessing, this book is for you. The author seemed to think of little facts and events that make the story believable. I am glad there are more books in the series. I can see myself getting to know Jack and look forward to more crimes he is involved in solving and how his viewpoint effects the outcomes.
