I give this book 4 out of 4
The book was fascinating and really makes you think about gun violence and overall United States and the ‘freedom’ we have. There is a lot of things that came up in the book like gun rights and immigration that made me want to research and see what the reality in our country is and what impacted the writing of this book. I know that while reading this book several shootings have occurred in the United States and it is daunting to try and argue whether or not there were regulations that are in place or should be in place to be able to stop these acts of terror.

The characters built upon each other and themselves as the book progressed. I severely enjoyed how each chapter in the beginning introduced a different aspect of the story. From the elderly couple, to the tech inventor, to the lawyer, there are so many angles that allow for discussion about gun rights and technological ethics.

I think lots of people will enjoy this book since it shows gun freedoms and violations. I think people on both ends of the argument on gun rights, regulation and violence. This book has really made me think about both sides of the issue in ways I never would have if I didn’t read this book. It is mysteriously written to keep readers interested and wanting to know more about the story, the technology and the characters. Each decision that the individual characters make allow for interest to peak and anxiety to sometimes come. I know for me that group conversations made me nervous because it slingshotted peoples opinions and original bias. When the elderly couple got new apple products there was a heightened need for tech for them. They were pleased with what they got so they were able to research and use the internet. Getting a concealed carry weapon was something that was researched by the elderly gentleman which he didn’t really tell his wife about. Secrets were kept and we see that it only turns bad for the characters.

The only thing that bugged me about the book was that the lady that was the lawyer or investigator came out of nowhere. I would like to see a bit more character development for her so we can not just feel like there is an unneeded extra in the part of the book that she comes into.
