Review by Kemunto lucy -- E-M-P Honeymoon
Honduras is the perfect destination for Sergent Tom and Kelly McBride. Upon arrival for their honeymoon, they decide to explore the city in search of adventure, separately, and, this is where E M P Honeymoon: Tom & Kelly starts. It is written by Dorothy May Mercer.
After a weeding, the next exciting thing for the couple is the honeymoon. They all have different stories and, this is what happens during Tom and Kelly's honeymoon.
The weather is perfect in the hotel. Tom decides to go sailing while Kelly takes a bus to explore the island. The sites are beautiful and one specific site captures Kelly's attention. It's a gift shop called 'Pigsty', curious, right? Kelly's curiosity gets the best of her and she explores a little bit further. Little does she know that, there is more to this than the outward appearance of the shop. She is attacked and chased by unknown people. The people are dangerous and want to harm her. She luckily escapes but, this is an open window to a deadly terrorist group. Tom learns about the attempted attack on his wife and looks into the matter. His findings are unbelievable. Whatever awaits them could make their lives shorter, or, will they live through?
The plot and setting are interesting. The island Tom and Kelly choose is strategically picked for events that follow. Though the book is fast paced, the events are explained really well leaving zero room for confusion. The dialogues are well-written and vivid. The terrorists have their own language and their perspective is also different. It is easy to reason with both parties.
There is a theme of love which is evident between Kelly and Tom. Crime is also an outstanding theme. Being a romantic novel, there are a few sexual scenes though not erotic. This book is a short read and with it's kind of pacing, you can read it within a few hours. It is easy to identify with since, it captures real life scenarios like the media. The characters are also entertaining, even the bad ones.
I, therefore, rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I loved the action and the suspense. The editing is also well done. This book does not contain too much thrill but, has just enough for its number of pages. There is also humor which is always good for the soul. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good romance novel, which is fast paced and short too.
