Angela Renatus gets another vision. In this one, she sees Alex Caine killing someone. This dream startles her. There is more it but she doesn't know it yet. Meet The Girl Who Loved Caravaggio, the second book in Out of Time Series. It is written by the excellent author, Belle Ami.

Angela and Alex are out on another mission. There is yet another masterpiece missing called the Caravaggio's painting. A client approaches Alex to search for this piece of art since it's of significance to him in maintaining a family's good name. Alex and Angela are the perfect match since the former is a detective and the latter specializes in historical arts.

Caravaggio was a painter who fell in love with Fillide. Fillide had a not so good past and suffered in the hands of Rannucio. This angered Caravaggio and had to settle this with Rannucio. Their encounter wasn't so good and Rannucio ended up dead. Caravaggio and Fillide had to run for their lives. Each to a different destination. Their love story was on the edge. Angela sees this as an interpretation of her vision. What she doesn't understand is why Alex was the one in it. They set of into the unknown, not knowing the danger that awaits them. All in the name of solving this mystery.

I loved to watch the love between Alex and Angela grow. They are a special couple. Alex also has a special connection to this tale. Their fate is predetermined. It's like they've known each other from another life. But where?

Set in Italy, the author gives beautiful descriptions of the environment and the people's way of life. The shifts in time are well defined avoiding any confusion in the storyline. New characters are also well introduced. I also found this book informative since I got a glimpse of the places the characters visited, through the author's vivid descriptions. It is also well written with a rich imagination from the author. There is a relatable aspect, of Angela's dad worrying about her but still supporting her decisions.

There is romance in this book and so are sexual scenes, though not graphic. I recommend this book to mystery lovers. The editing is professionally done and the action is thrilling. I also found the ending satisfactory. I, therefore, rate it 4 out of 4 stars. There was never a dull moment. Looking forward to the next one.
