Double Blind by Michael Amon is both a suspense novel and a love story about wine. Bobby and Trilby are both passionate about wine, scheming, and gambling. Although they have some issues with each other from their previous exploits, they are able to put differences aside and team up for a massive scheme. Jean-Luc is a wine aficionado from France who is determined to destroy the grapes in California's Napa Valley and to restore France to its former wine glory. Bobby and Trilby set out to put a stop to this while trying to make a fortune on the side.

This book is fast-paced and easy to read. It's a fun story with enjoyable characters that draw the reader in. The dialogue is well-written and full of life. It is easy to imagine what the characters sound like when they are speaking. Besides being an action novel, Double Blind also delivers a fascinating story about the world of wine. It teaches its readers a lot about grapes, growing processes, and blind tastings.

I really liked this book. It is the second novel about the characters Bobby and Trilby, but it can easily be read independently of the first. The story seems to be completely unique. There are some references to how the characters interacted before, but this was easy enough to follow and didn't pose any problems for me.

My favorite part of this novel was the wine aspect. I found those details to be interesting and informative. I learned a lot about vines and grapes. I also really enjoyed the beginning and middle of the story. The build up was great. The way the characters got involved in this giant caper and then the ensuing plots and stakeouts were all entertaining to read. The ending, however, was my least favorite part of the book. It felt a bit rushed to me. The story was developed so well that the ending felt slightly anticlimactic to me. However, I still enjoyed the book and would read future installments.

I give this book 3 out of 4 stars. There were some minor editing errors, but overall, it was well-written. I was entertained throughout the novel and was eager to find out how the story would end. I would recommend this to action lovers, gambling fanatics, and wine drinkers alike. Be sure to pour yourself a glass before you settle into this story. Enjoy. You're in for a treat.
