The Dark Web Murders was a real intriguing venture into the lives and investigations of DCI Sheehan and his team, trying to find a psychopath killer who is posting his kills on the Deep Dark Web. Up until the very end, I had no idea who this intelligent killer was, and I just couldn’t put the book down! I must say that I totally agree with Joseph Sousa’s summary that the author Dr. Brian O’Hare is "extremely talented and should be better known in the crime writing world"!

The plot starts with a twist of a boy dying in the Magilligan Prison, in Northern Ireland, which seems totally unrelated to this Dark Web Killer..... much, much later you start to pick up on the mystery of where this boy fits in. While the bodies pile up, the killer write philosophical, well written, intelligent, psychopathic letters on the dark web about each killing and his version of justice, justification, hate and satisfaction. DCI Sheehan, his beautiful partner: Sergeant Stewart and the rest of the team, investigate a secret Sex Club called the “Fulfilment of Enlightened Club”. The plot is dense and the forensics always interesting. Throw in a Profiler and a Cryptographer and you have an intricate plot and a very nice read.

I thoroughly enjoyed the killer's quotes of literature and the complicated philosophies for example “Real justification, the essence of a specific deed, can be found only in the belief and in the psyche of the doer”. I couldn’t wait for each letter he wrote!

DCI Sheehan and his team is like a family and you get acquainted with the individuals in the team. There is a bit of love, humour and personal relationships that lighten up the feel of the book. The plot is rather complicated with a lot of suspects and this personal traits and relationships of the team, gives you a smile to relieve the tension.

The most disturbing of the book was the vicious killing of the dog and the description of the killing. Although it was disturbing to read, I did understand that it fitted with the psychopath’s sick plan. I did somehow feel comforted that DCI Sheehan’s team felt the same way as myself.

I am definitely hooked on the author, Brian O’Hare and I give The Dark Web Murders a 4 out of 4 stars, and can’t wait to read of more murders that DCI Sheehan solved. If you enjoyed the Prime Suspect novels of Linda La Plante, you will surely love The Dark Web Murders of Dr Brian O’Hare. I can’t wait to read the 11.05 Murders next!
