Tame thrillers are never good. It sounds more like a drama with some work needed to be done to build tension in the plot. Good review!

I'm not much of a thriller reader, but you do a great job of pointing out the strong points of this one. How interesting that it seems to bowdlerize the Mexican cartels!

Very interesting indeed. Perhaps the author didn't want to make himself a target. :lol2: Thanks for commenting!

I admire the author's choice of the first person narrator in developing his story.
Amazing review.

Joe Perry Calderwood seems to have a great future as a writer. This review of yours made me want to get my hands on this book ASAP. Great job, Ever_Reading.
Heart! We will forget him!
You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.

When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!

I am Mexican, and the mere mention of such a beautiful place as Mérida was enough to catch my attention. However, I've never been a fan of first person narrative. Thanks for the review!

Incredible review! The story sounds like a sweet one. I like it that the author involved twists and fleshed out characters. Definitely a nice read.

Money laundering, drug smuggling, jail stints, spilled blood AND plot twists in both Mexico and Florida?! Wow, what a storyline of adrenaline-pumping intrigue. I appreciate you providing the honest insight you have, thanks for this one!
