Mixed Blessings, by J.M. Muse, is a great book to read for those who are keen on societal issues and relatable stories. The author has done a great job of portraying the real picture of modern-day society allowing the reader to become aware of the prevailing evil in society. Bad leadership, occults, and manipulation plaque this society causing a negative ripple effect on the people.

The story revolves around several characters of mixed-race origin. These characters have a hard time fitting in society since they are considered different. Since they struggle with their own identity, they are vulnerable to opportunities and people who give them hope. The author unravels what it is like to sell your body and soul. Mental freedom empowers the characters to make the right choices and ultimately walk in the right path. In the end, the characters realize that acceptance starts from within, and they have to embrace who they are and be at peace with themselves first.

Themes like bad leadership, identity crisis, deceit, and manipulation are prevalent in this society. The place of the woman in society is another theme that the author addresses in the story. The story is also very informative as well as educative since it shows the consequences of struggling with identity. There are also great quotes in the story that help to bring a sense of hope to the characters.

Anyone who is struggling with identity or is on a self-discovery journey will find this book insightful. People who enjoy reading books on social issues will also enjoy reading the book since it has a lot of similarities with our modern-day society. The book is also eye-opening on racial issues, and it gives the reader insight on how to treat people of mixed origin. Leaders will also benefit from the book since it sheds light on how bad decisions can negatively impact an entire society. The book may, however, not be appropriate for children since it has a few adult scenes. Young adults will find this book useful.

The author tackled great themes that are relatable and important. Even though the story had several characters, it flowed well from the beginning to the end of the story. The characters were relatable, and it was easy to feel their emotions as well as their suffering. I did not find any errors, and I am therefore awarding the book a 4 out of 4 stars rating.
