The Dark Web Murders by Brian O’Hare is a captivating novel that I highly recommend. A merciless serial killer by the name of Nemein is on the loose! Claiming to be neither a murderer nor killer due to being "detached" from his killings. But no matter what Nemein says, they know the truth; people are dying because of him. Chief Detective Inspector Sheehan is insulted after being taunted by a series of blogs posted on the dark web. These have descriptive accounts of the murders. The bodies keep piling up and the pressure is becoming overwhelming. Will Detective Sheehan stop this ruthless killer before any more victims are taken?

Throughout this book, Brian O’Hare dives deep down into the mindset of a serial killer, making the reader more interested. Unlike other books I have read, it was highly thought-through; giving us a highly realistic view of what Nemein was truly thinking.

This book also has a very developed plot that gives us time to explore all the characters and possibilities because the plot is not rushed. After reading the whole book, you realize how intricate the plot really was. My favorite part was the end as I loved how it all tied together and left me feeling very satisfied as it kept me guessing all the way through. However, I did not enjoy the fourth murder as it felt slightly rushed and did not fully go into detail.

The characters were well developed, so much so that I could know who was speaking without being told. This was a significant accomplishment as there were so many characters, I thought it would be next to impossible to accomplish.

I would rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars because of the level of depth in his characters and plot and the amazing insight into the deep dark mind of Nemein.

This was an extremely well-written crime novel that will no doubt leave most readers both amazed and horrified at what they had just read.

I would put this book in the age category of 16+ because there is quite a bit of profane language, and throughout the book, it explores sexual themes crucial to the timeline. The language and themes explored throughout the books would appeal to that age category as well. I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys excellent quality crime novels.

I wish the author well on his journey to becoming successful, however, I am surprised he is not already world-renowned.
