The Date Farm by Jack Winnick follows the counter-terrorism operations which involve married agents as their government responds to violent attacks from a global enemy. The central characters balance their skills and priorities both as a couple and as individual highly-ranked service members. This book details the workings of the terrorist organizations as well as the government agencies combating their militant strikes. It is a fast-paced, thoroughly researched tale offering page after page of strategy and plight.

I would recommend The Date Farm to readers with interest in global and domestic terrorism, central intelligence, or military content. I would also recommend this to those who seek out action stories or thrillers. The book opens in true Jack Winnick fashion, by throwing the reader directly into intense blood-spattered action. Each chapter maintains the same stimulating energy, which keeps the reader invested in the plot.

Winnick's sharp use of expressive vocabulary conveys each scene in a crisp and illustrative manner. This serves a wonderful point for providing character and scenery detail. However, I would not recommend The Date Farm to anyone who has an aversion to violence, as there are repeated graphic depictions of violence throughout the book.

One of my favorite elements is the continued story layout from earlier Lara and Uri books that is inclusive of both opposing sides in the story. Winnick seems to have improved upon this aspect of the writing, taking the reader back and forth from vastly different locations and allowing them to witness enemy dialogue and strategy without ever becoming too convoluted in the process. Intimately experiencing opposing sides in the midst of their ongoing conflict really gives the reader a broadened perspective on the plot.

My other favorite part of the book is the diversity in cultures that are present, as well as the wide range of international locations where events take place. One minor moment that I do not like in the story is the awkwardly featured sexual encounter at the beginning, which occurs steps away from a character's parents. I find that detail to be unnecessary. Other than that, the romantic thread fits in much more seamlessly than it did in earlier books of the series. As a whole, The Date Farm is the best written book of Lara and Uri by far. The quality and the excitement within the writing, combined with the uniquely variant layout are the reasons why I give The Date Farm a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

I believe this book would be more perfect if it went for another round of correction
