Carrots: A Shelby Nichols Adventure was introduced to me through hijacking my mother's kindle books
The premise is that Shelby, average mom, decides to go to the store to buy carrots. The store is robbed, and she gets grazed by a bullet. She cheesily acquires the gift of being able to read people's thoughts. From then on, Shelby finds herself embroiled in a not-so-boring world of crime and danger.
Sure, there were a few cliches in this book. Overall, I thought it well-written and witty. It was a light-hearted read that didn't require too much contemplation. Thus, I read it quickly, with a few chuckles along the way.
There are three more books in this series, but I have yet to read them. They are certainly on my "to do" list!
