The Dark Web Murders by Brian O’Hare is a murder mystery that kept me guessing until the very last page. This book is the fourth installation in the Inspector Sheehan Mysteries series. After finishing this book, I am keen to read the previous three books in the series. The Dark Web Murders follows Inspector Sheehan as he tries to catch an intelligent and psychotic serial killer.

Inspector Sheehan, along with his team from the Serious Crime Unit, is constantly pushed to their limit by a serial killer called Neiman. First, a prominent judge is killed in his home and then a retired teacher. Neither victim seems to be linked to the other except for the method used in both killings. The suspect list grows and each suspect more prominent than the other. The discovery of Nemein's blog on the dark web takes the team down a new and more confusing path. The blog details every gruesome detail of each murder. Nemein's third and fourth murders send the team scraping for clues. Many questions are asked but no answers can be found. What are the connections between the victims? What is 'The Club'? What is the identity of the sinister serial killer? Now it appears the final killing may be someone from the Serious Crime Unit. Can the killer be caught before it is too late?

I enjoyed every twist and turn. Each character was thoroughly considered and has a specific purpose in the story. A list of important characters and a glossary of British police acronyms are provided to assist the reader. I liked that I constantly had to change my way of thinking. Just when I thought I knew who the killer was, the author would make me second-guess everything I thought I knew. This was a magnificently written whodunit. I cannot think of one thing that I dislike.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4. It takes an amazing book to make you excited to read others in the series. Adult readers will enjoy this book. There are situations in this book that is not suitable for readers under the age of 18. Any reader that dares to engulf themselves in this murder mystery will not be disappointed.
