It’s disturbing and shocking to know what all some people would do to attain fame and money. The Prize by Geoffrey M. Cooper is a suspense thriller. We live in a world where people are striving to be at the top. To be the first. There's competition in every field. People constantly want the best and will not settle for any less.

The Prize describes the story of two scientists trying to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. One of them is Eric Prescott. Well known for his works and contributions to the medical field, he had received almost every award except one. The Nobel Prize. He wants it badly, but there was another scientist who also capable of receiving the award. He wants it so badly that he’ll do anything to win it. Pamela Weller has spent years of effort and hard work on finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. She knew she was close to finding it. If she succeeds, she could have a stable career. A career she dreamed and strove for. Will her dream come true? Or will she lose her dream career for a mistake she didn't commit?

I was amazed by the way the book played with my emotions. I was so furious at some points I wanted to reach through the screen and whack the irritating characters over and over. The temptation to read the ending was so much that it took every bit of control in me to not do so. I was chuckling when the book ended. Some characters got me very worked up, and the ending soothed my nerves. The ending is my favorite aspect of the book.

Now let me talk about my favorite character. I like Jake, Pam's boyfriend the most. He was there for her whenever she needed him. His detective abilities were amazing too. Pam and Jake cherished each other a lot. While Pam was encountering problems, I was really relieved and glad that she had Jake to help her. There isn't a single thing that I hate about the plot. The author has done an excellent job with the book.

I rate The Prize by Geoffrey M. Cooper four out of four stars. I couldn't find any mistakes while reading. Profanity was frequently used. I recommend this book to those who enjoy general suspense thrillers. This book exceeded all of my expectations. The plot couldn't be better, and I loved every single aspect of it. I guarantee you'll love this book, for once you start reading it nothing else will matter.
