[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "The Team X Project" by Ezequiel Escamilla.]
The Team X Project by Ezequiel Escamilla is a fictional thriller about a group of secret agents that assembles to fight a dangerous terrorist organization. The novel contains many elements of a typical thriller, such as suspense, action, and suspense. The writer utilizes a simple, yet meaningful way to communicate his ideas to the reader.
The author begins this story by writing about a senator named McNeal that was elected president of the United States. However, he was abducted by a terrorist organization and they eventually killed him. Before killing him though, the head of the terrorist organization, nicknamed Cobra, disguised himself as president-elect McNeal. So, the United States would soon be led by one of the most dangerous, evil, and cruel men on the planet. That is when Team X came to the scene. Various agents who had been specially trained from their teen years left their current jobs and assembled to fight Cobra and his terrorist organization. Nonetheless, some members of the terrorist organization are in the US federal agencies and they try their hardest to kill the members of Team X. Among the victims of these terrorists is the head of Team X, a man named John Carlton.
I enjoyed this book greatly, as I found many beautiful elements in it. For one, I found it hard to put this novel down, as it contained intense suspense, tension, and action, which hooked my attention. Moreover, the story was chronologically, rationally, and cohesively structured, allowing readers to follow along the author’s logical line of reasoning. What I liked most about this novel was that the events described by the author were realistic, as he created a real-life scenario in the story. This engaged my attention, making me appreciate this book more.
What I disliked most about this book was that it had plenty of errors, therefore, it was not professionally edited. To improve its status, this novel needs to pass through another round of professional editing.
This book is best suited for mature readers interested in an action-packed crime thriller. Mature readers are more suited to read this book because this story has plenty of violence, profanity, as well as some sexual scenes. Readers of all religions can read and enjoy this story.
This book deserves a rating of 3 out of 4 stars. A higher rating would have been too generous, as this book has many errors. Nevertheless, I could not give it a lower score because it was interesting, realistic, and engaging.
