An Imperfect Crime by Fred G. Baker is a wonderfully written book about a wide range of different crimes all woven together. Detective Sanchez and Father Montero work together to solve a series of crimes including kidnappings, murders and drug distribution. They will uncover lies and hidden identities that lead them to the answers no one else was able to find. They may not do things by the book, but they do the best they can to do what is right. This book is not something you want to put down until you have read from cover to cover.

I rate this book a 4 out of 4. I would highly recommend this book to adults that enjoy crime fiction. There are many surprises along the way that keep you on the edge of your seat. The story line is surprising and suspenseful which draws you in to soak up every single detail. The story line is thoughtfully laid out to follow the natural occurrence of events. There is some profanity and detailed accounts of certain crimes that could be disturbing to some.

The attention to detail is amazing at bringing the story to life. I rate this book the way I did because there is a lack of spelling and grammar errors and the details are spectacular. Nothing is forgotten or glossed over leaving the reader satisfied and without a long list of unanswered questions. While at the same time there are no unnecessary frills added to distract from the main story line.

Above all my most liked element was how realistic the crimes were. If you lay out all the facts yourself as you go along you can tie everything together and evidence does not just fall from the sky unlike other crime fiction out there. Dates were added throughout so you could figure out exactly when events took place in relationship to other events.

It is impossible for me to find a negative about this book I enjoyed every minute I spent reading this book and watching the story unfold. The author masterfully walked you through the timeline and each setting the story utilizes is detailed down to the drink order of each person. Switching between the viewpoints if different characters is seamless so there is no confusion about what is unfolding. No shortcuts were taken, and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
