Review by Devangi Malik -- The Dark Web Murders
Bryan O’Hare never ceases to amaze with his remarkable work. Same is brought forward in the fourth book of the Sheehan Mystery series titled The Dark Web Murders. The impressive work in this book will surely add another feather to Bryan O’Hare’s cap. Although the book is the fourth in series but it can stand alone too, like the other three.
The plot revolves around a team of investigators who finds a reputed judge murdered in his own house in an unusual manner. The tension builds up in the team when they are unable to find any clue or evidence about the murderer at the site. While the team of experts is busy interrogating about a dozen of high class society friends of the judge, an unexpected murder of a High School Principal takes place, that seems to have no direct connection with the judge but is murdered in the same unusual manner. The heart starts pumping double the amount of blood in arteries when a barrister is also murdered. Sheehan and the team are completely clueless and fail to connect the victims. As the investigation follows, the plot takes many unprecedented turns that makes it an interesting as well as an intense read. Some strange activities are discovered by the team on the dark web. The blogs of Nemein are gaining immense popularity. Reading these blogs, even I got manipulated by the thoughts of our killer. The soul defeated by the beauty of literature.
The Dark Web Murders is definitely a professionally edited book. I came across only a very few typos to count. Also, the presentation and the way timeline runs through the entire story enchant the reader. The book puts forward a perfect blend of two writing styles: The British language used in the very modern context along with the Classical writing style at various other instances. The ease with which each scene and character is described deserves a separate admiration. Shortly, all hundred dollar words put in thousand dollar sentences to write a million dollar story.
Overall I recommend the book to everyone who enjoys reading thrillers, mysteries and detective stories. The book is a complete package filled with emotions, hatred, revenge and a lot of adrenaline rush. I am left with nothing to dislike in the book. The author has undoubtedly presented a masterpiece for the readers. So, based on the overall observations, I would award it 4 out of 4 stars. It is confidently an unforgettable read.
Although while reading the book, I came across a few of profanities, but there is no scene of sexual nature described in the book. The profanities are linked with the High Profile Club founded by the Judge, around which the whole investigation revolves. The nature of the club and the activities can be disturbing to a common man and surely to minors. Therefore, caution must be taken before handling this book to the minors. But, it is a remarkable read for those who enjoy highly tensed environment and curiosity to trace the murderer. So, add the book to your wish list and you will never regret it. Happy Reading…..
