Are you looking for an epic investigation story that keeps you entertained and trying to figure out who the narcissistic psychotic killer is? Look no further, B. O’Hare’s ‘The Dark Web Murders’ has just the right amount of suspense, intrigue, and mystery to keep you captivated.

Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Jim Sheehan’s mind is a powerful tool that captures each minute detail, which allows no rock to be left unturned. The Dark Web Murders takes you on a journey through Northern Ireland, where a serial killer makes use of the Dark Web to boast about and justify his killings. Nemein is seen as a true justice bringer and an instrument of nemesis in the eyes of the truly depraved and accumulates quite the following.

Only after the third murder did I start to realize where Kevin Lane fits into the storyline. Just when you think you have a grasp on the puzzle, something changes your perspective and suddenly you are back at square one. I was so proud to have figured out Nemein’s poem that I was positive I figured out the identity of the killer. Alas, with a shocking turn of events I discovered that DCI Sheehan truly is the best in the field and it would’ve been game over for me. Sheehan and his team deserve all the credit for uncovering not only the members of the ‘Fulfillment of the Enlightened Club’ but also in uncovering the true motive for Nemein’s killings.

This was my first time reading a book by B. O’Hare, and I must say I’m definitely hooked. I started reading The Dark Web Murders and only later found out it is actually part of a series. Usually when you start reading a book connected to a series you feel lost, however, B. O’Hare starts this book as a standalone which makes it easy to follow and hard to put down. What I liked the most, was B. O’Hare’s list of characters in the information section that provides a short description of each person which helped me keep track of everyone.

I gave The Dark Web Murders a rating of 4 out of 4 since this book was extremely well written and the amount of research done to support the psychopath’s rants must’ve been extensive because it almost had me going. O’Hare’s knowledge of the inner workings of police investigations and complex characters really bring The Dark Web Murders to life.
