[Following is the official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Oiorpata (The Thriller)" by Richard Ferguson.]

Richard Ferguson hit it out of the park with this novel. Oiorpata is a fictional book with a spy-based storyline. If you like the shows Burn Notice and Covert Affairs, you will love this book.

Ben is an agent with The Company and is working on acquiring a couple of new assets in Moscow. He learns some disturbing information that is backed up when he happens to meet a new lady. She, along with her roommates, is able to verify the information that he has received. His job now is to figure out the exact meaning of the message.

Marina has lived a different life. Snatched as a young girl, the life she now lives is one that has programmed into her. There are two people in her life that matter to her. Will they be her salvation or her downfall? She knows she has a job to do, but does not know if her heart, and mind, will allow her to follow through.

Ben figures out that he has been double-crossed, but is not sure who has set him up. His only option is to figure out the plot and get it to his boss before someone succeeds in killing him. He is surprised when he sees Marina again, but is still not sure of her roll in this constantly shifting plot. He is not sure who he can trust.

Once this book gets started, it turns into a fast paced ride that you do not want to get off. Every time you think that you have the mystery figured out, it changes on you. It also makes you want to read up more on some of the subject manner. Russia in the 1950’s seems to have been filled with strife and conspiracies. I thought a couple of times that all hope was lost only to have a surprise waiting for me on the next page.

I give this book 4 out 4 stars because the author grabbed my attention and never let go. Richard Ferguson made the characters and scenes come to life in my mind. At first I was confused on how the book jumped back and forth in time, but I soon found the relevancy in that action. Any book that can make you jump and shout out loud just reading it, is definitely a book that is worth reading. I would recommend that this book be put on everyone’s “to be read” list that like spy novels.

Gee, I am obviously behind the times! I've never heard of the 2 TV shows mentioned. Your review clearly explained Oiorpata, so I understand the storyline. But now I'll have to check out the shows besides this thriller.

Yes great review, you sound like an authentic reviewer that is basing your (two thumbs up!) on legitimate reasoning and raw feelings.
That I can appreciate more than critics and reviewers that base everything on data and estimations if you get what I'm saying. Its like someone telling you about something and making you "feel" the rush of their own excitement. I love spy novels and suspense thrillers that make you think and have plot twist that make perfect sense after the revelation. Because of your review alone, I may just read this novel. I have a weakness for spy thrillers. Especially ones that read like The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, even though this isn't exactly a spy novel. Thanks for this review. Now I know which espionage ride to go on next.

You had me at Burn Notice. I love fast-paced mysteries and the plot sounds great.

I was so caught up reading this book that I actually made my husband eat sandwiches for supper because I refused to quit reading. I love a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat and this book did that for me.
