Philip Tyler is a middle-aged journalist that works for the Evening Post newspaper. His friend, Winston, tells him an unbelievable tale about a naked man running on a country lane at night near Westleigh Lodge. When Phil first heard it, he didn’t believe it, but something inside him pushed him to investigate further. His interest rose, and he discovered that this case wasn’t the only one. Some doubtful company has turned an old building called Westleigh Lodge into a recovery center. For some reason, it seemed very suspicious and forced Philip to dig for more information. Unfortunately, his investigation wasn’t the safest and brought him some serious problems; however, this situation made him much stronger and wiser. What secrets lie behind Westleigh Lodge? Does Philip have enough courage enough to uncover the harsh truth and accept the love he found along the way? Shifting Sands by Barry Litherland will give an answer.

The story line of this book is fascinating, and this book is a great example of what thriller & suspense books should incorporate. It is very mysterious, the plot is incredible, and the idea itself was great. All of it combined made this book glorious and impressive. What’s more, Barry Litherland did a magnificent job at developing the scenario. Moreover, the characters were thought-out and made the book a masterpiece.

When it comes to pros and cons, I have listed most of the pros above. What I would also like to add is that the main character matures with us. The fear of stepping out of his comfort zone disappears when he faces real-life problems. By his example, we start to slowly mature and become one with Philip. To make a reader melt into the book, the writer must put in a lot of effort. When talking about the cons, I would like to say there are some gaps in the story itself; however, it did not affect my impression.

I have not found grammatical errors. I can state this book was well-edited. Obscene language and minor vulgarity are included in the book. The writer’s style is fantastic. Language is rich and interesting.

To conclude the words said above, I want to say I find this book superfine. It includes mystery, thriller, suspense, and even a romantic story line. That is why I give this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to an audience of 18+. If you like to tickle your nerves, this would be a great option for you.
