[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Twisted Threads" by Kaylin McFarren.]

My poor heart wasn't ready for the extra work that this book put it through! It didn't get much rest from thumping against my ribs due to how suspenseful this book was for me. And as much as I didn't want this book to finish, I am sure my heart thought otherwise.

Twisted Threads by Kaylin McFarren is a title about Akira, who is a vicious female assassin for the Yakuza Gang. When the leader of the Yakuza Gang learns that the person who murdered his sister will be on a cruise ship, he sends Akira to avenge his sister's murder.

Aboard the cruise ship, Akira didn't want to kill anyone whom she wasn't sure was the right culprit. Hence, she decides to get close to the couple suspected to be responsible for the murder. Being so beautiful, it didn't take Akira time to befriend the couple's nephew, Devon Lyons. But Devon, oblivious of Akira's plan, falls head over heels in love with her. However, they soon discover they both have to fight for their lives when events in the ship take a dangerous turn.

Kaylin McFarren has taken my imagination on a fascinating ride with this piece. This book is a perfect blend of romance, crime, and mystery. This title is the fourth book of the Twisted series, but you wouldn't be missing anything by just reading this piece as it can stand on its own. The author uses the third-person point of view to tell the entire story, and it felt like I was watching the characters play their roles from a vantage point.

I enjoyed the author's writing style! The language is simple but colorful, and this helps the story to flow smoothly. Also, this book is rich in vivid imagery. The author was able to paint clear pictures on my mind with her impeccable descriptions. Nevertheless, the characterization is top-notch. I must commend the author for being able to develop the many characters in the book so excellently. They are unique and easy to relate to, and I found myself trying to warn them of imminent danger. I am sure most readers would love the characters of Akira and Devon, but my favorite is Paul Lyons. I enjoyed the conflicts between him and Bradshaw.

What I liked the most about this book was the twist at the end. There was no way I could have predicted the end of this book. My goodness, all my guesses were wrong! I am in awe of the author's creativity and can't sufficiently commend her. Furthermore, I loved how believable the dialogues in the book were. They were natural, humorous, and distinct for each character. However, I must warn readers of the many erotic scenes in the book. I didn't mind them, but I believe it might upset some readers. More so, there are vivid descriptions of people dying gruesomely, so you can skip this one if you don't like reading about such things.

In conclusion, there wasn't anything I disliked about this book. I, therefore, rate Twisted Threads 4 out of 4 stars. It is exceptionally edited but contains a lot of profanities. I am recommending this book to adults who love crime, mystery, and romance stories. I am eagerly looking forward to reading other titles from this brilliant author.

I liked that the story involved a twisted end. An unpredictable storyline is what captivates me the most.

A good characterization hugely affects my reading experience. It is relatively easier to fall in love in a book with relatable and well-developed characters. The premise sounds promising too. Seems like you really loved it. Thanks for this very vivid and informative review.

Assassins books sound a bit creepy, but I haven't read from a female point of view. I might try to get through this book.

You have no idea how many times I do this while reading, admonishing all their dumb moves and shouting at the book when their foolish bravery leads to their demise. Most authors can't create an environment where the readers become attached to the characters. Kudos to Kaylin! Kudos to you for writing an awesome review!

This seems an intriguing thriller that follows the mission of an assassin with twists and turns. I'll look into this series. Thank you for your great review!
