When a high profile judge, Trevor Neeson turns up dead in his house, chief inspector Jim Sheehan is called upon to investigate the murder. But as the chief inspector and his team of detectives try to find needles in a haystack, more people turn up dead. All in the same gruesome manner. What’s more startling is that the killer is writing blogs on these murders with a convincing elaborate justification in the so called dark web, which has not only caught the attention of many people but also has motivated them to join him in his morbid fascinating path of self justification.

Most of the book describes about the usual police work but as the book nears its end, you come across some astounding revelations which will send chills to your spine .Brian O' Hare has brilliantly written this masterpiece of a work , which includes citations from the 18th and 19th century English literature. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it subtly tells about how human mind , especially the one which has endured pain , injustice and suffering can be affected psychologically in such a manner that he or she cannot perceive the thin line between sanity and insanity.

My favourite part of this book is that how the author boldly gives an insight into the dark world of the so called pillars of our society , a repulsive truth ,which makes you wonder what the society has come to. A truth , so horrendous that it will sow the seeds of mistrust in the minds of the people towards the so called elite class. I also liked the way the Chief Inspector Sheehan's character solved the case by linking up all the small things that were connected in his subconscious. It was breathtaking by the time I neared the end of the book.

I would like to rate this book , The Dark Web Murders by Brian O' Hare 4 out of 4 stars as it is an exceptionally flawless book which centralises on subtle variance between sanity and insanity in addition to focusing on how grief and power can turn people into something inhuman.

I strongly recommend this clever , gripping , eloquent book to all those who fancy the combination of mystery, philosophy and detective work. For such people, this book is a go. I do not recommend this book to children and people with a sensitive mind as there are few elements of profanity and gruesome details that will turn up your stomach.
