Black Notice by Patricia Cornwell

Post by carrn_boys »

The book begins with a ship arriving that holds a sealed container with a decomposed body. The autopsy is inconclusive in regards to identification or cause of death. The investigation takes the medical examiner, Dr. Kay Scarpetta, to France where she receives secret evidence. She returns home to conclusde the investigation. I don't want to spoil the book so I will finish my summary with that information. :-)

I recently finished this book and have mixed reviews. In my opinion, it was very slow to start. I actually picked it up and started it several different times before I actually "got into" the book. By the middle of the book, I was holding onto my seat and having a hard time putting it down. Though there were some periods of confusion throughout. Some parts were a little difficult to follow. The most disappointing part was the ending. I was holding on and holding on...excitement building...to have it end very unexpectedly. I was very disappointed. If I had to give the book a number rating...I would probably say 3.5/5.
