Review by Mokgabudi Matome -- The Dark Web Murders
At times when the writer has taken much off their time and put it into the work, it does show with the wonderful book that they have put out for the readers. Brian O’Hare has given us an excellent book that is filled with the thrills and the excitement that one could wish to find in the kind of book he has brought forward. The name Dark Web Murders suit the book nicely if one is to shy of saying perfectly. I could go on and say the writing is on the wall and what one needs to do is to take the book and enjoy reading.
In the book we are introduced to a judge that unfortunately we are to lose him as fast as we had known him. Well, what is interesting is the acts that has happened after his death that tends to reveal deeper secrets to what he and his friends would get up to behind closed doors. The police force was mandated to an intriguing investigation when the judge died, and it brought to us an interesting storyline. The police looked like they were chasing their own tail like a dog but then as it is commonly known that “there is always light at the end of the tunnel”.
As the police were carrying their investigations, they are also troubled with the new death that comes along the way. But interestingly the death that they are faced with that they need to investigate have a common aspect to them in how the murders were carried out. According to the dark web blog of the killer he was carrying out his own justice that he deemed fit for the culprits he has killed. What the police did not know was that at the dark web was all the information they needed to solve the crimes that were committed.
I give the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. My rating is influenced by how the book is different from most books that are written and published. It is different in an essence that it has no chapters but then it is divided into days as they go by and telling us how the story unfolds. Also, for the rating above I am influenced by how the writer does not shy away from giving us all the details of the events happening. The writer has also taken much time to check and confirm that the book has little or no errors at all.
What I had liked most about the book is how the women are respected and are given roles that were mostly taken by men. What I did not like most about the book is how gruesome how the murders were carried out even though it was explained by the murderer in his blog. I would mostly recommend the book to every person who loves action movies. The recommendation goes mostly to them because I believe they will love the storyline and how it unfolds. Since the book has profane language, I would recommend it to someone who is not easily offended by profane language. It is also a great book to those who love crime detective stories because it has all the aspects that one could expect with such story and more.
