THE RHYTHM OF EVIL is a suspenseful fictional book written by Dennis Koller. The book is about the investigation of the murder of a young woman named Poppy Garcia.

Poppy Garcia, a young Hispanic cab driver was found murdered at her apartment in San Francisco. Her murderer could not be traced, and the case was closed. Thirteen years later inspector Reggie Decker is persuaded by his nephew to dig up this cold case. Also, a Twitter post, accusing the San Francisco police department of being homophobic, sexist, and racist instigates Decker to reopen the case. Decker is an honest and unbiased police officer who assumes that Poppy’s case was handled with equal care and commitment by the department. He wants to put an end to the Twitter rage that is tarnishing the department’s name. Things start getting ugly when Decker realizes that there were many loopholes in Poppy’s case. The book is about Decker’s journey and experiences as he tries to unravel the murder mystery.

What I liked most about the book is its smooth narration. The simplistic, clear, and relatable writing will instantly pull you into the book. The author has explained the entire investigation procedure in detail that will help the reader to put the pieces together. The climax of the book is quite unpredictable and thrilling. I am fascinated by the way the author has managed to create a balance between the murder mystery and the personal life of the lead character. Decker’s relation with his wife, his colleagues, and friends is genuine and provides a pleasant diversion from the otherwise suspenseful story. The book also gives us a quick peek into the regular day of a police officer. It also brings to light how alert and focused the officers in the homicide department have to be to deliver justice to the people.

There was never a dull moment in the book. All the characters of the book are well-conceived and quickly grow on you. The mysterious plot of the book makes it hard to put down.

This book is well-written and professionally edited. It has a few grammatical errors but I am going to ignore these and rate it 4 out of 4 stars because of its gripping storyline. I recommend this book to adults above 18 years of age. Those who are interested in crime and investigation related stories may find this book very interesting. I think that this story would make an excellent script for a film.

Wow, your review make this book seem like it's the best crime and mystery thriller. I would definitely be reading this book. I am also drawn to books that were written in simple and clear writing styles.

An investigative novel such as this is definitely worth reading. I love that it has a good amount of mystery in the plot. Great review.

Your review has me very interested in this book. I usually find when people say they have a hard time putting down a thriller I end up really loving it myself.
