Enraged is a story of fiction that reveals similar to real life drama, but definitely a book that should stay in the genre of crime. Not to be included in genres thriller and suspense, where many people may be repulsed by the story.
It is unbelievable what a family will endure to keep a secret. This story walks you through the life of a family that experiences a tragic event and undergoes a number of trials and tribulations to find justice for an unspeakable act. Married to a Russian celebrity’s son, Bukula, also from Nigeria Africa, is put through torment, guilt, and self-hatred to fight for what she knows is right. Bukula also experiences deceit and racism within the confines of those she knows as family. As the tragedy unfolds, the only other person who knows the truth ends up in a coma, leaving Bukula to deal with the battle on her own.
The power of money also plays a role in this story. While courtroom battles declare who has a say in events that take place, lawyers will look the other way when a celebrity’s money and reputation are in the balance. This story will lead you to believe some celebrities can get away with anything inside and outside of a courtroom.
The author did a good job keeping on course between the characters and events in the book. Despite some grammatical errors, the story moves and does not break away from the scheme of the book. Thankfully, the points of the story are just enough to define the events and not leave a lasting impression on the reader. The details are more to illustrate the emotions each person is coping with throughout the story as a result of the events that take place.
This book is a tough one to read with implications of the crime involved. I read through it quickly hoping that something good would come out of it, despite the events that take place. The story will make you feel sad and angry, similar to the emotions of the characters within. My only recommendation for this book would be put forth to those who can stomach psychological and behavioral issues in matters of crime.
Sorry, I cannot say I love this book while the story is not one everyone would agree with. Even though the story may be somewhat true to life, I am only glad to know how it ends. I am going to rate this book at a rating of three out of four stars based on structure and presentation.
