It’s a story of a modest and pleasant family of Robert and Marie with their four children including Jace, our main hero. Both Robert and Marie are a really sweet lovable couple with modern thoughts. They never stopped any children to pursue what they wanted except once, with Jace. Not seeing any other solution Jace left home and went to New York to pursue his dream. After two years of pursuing his dream, Jace returned unsuccessfully to his small town Willowcreek. His family welcomed him wholeheartedly as it seemed at first. Jace’s older brother Dane was very close to him so he organized a bonfire and invited all old friends.

It is said that alcohol brings out the emotion that you can’t say while being sober. The emotion Dane felt after Jace’s leaving lead to a fight between them on that night. From here the story takes a change and after that night an event of unpredictable things started happening. Dane got last, a murder happened in their neighborhood, family acting normal as if nothing happened. This all made Jace confused as hell. Jace started feeling himself an outsider as he realized that his family was hiding some secrets which lead him to a secret tunnel in the back wood of the house.

It is said that life is unpredictable but after reading this I would say that people are more unpredictable than life. Will Jace ever be going to find about the secret and if he would, where will this secret lead his life?

I loved the way the writer “David Jackson” in his book “A Walk Through the Grapes” has given priority to each character in this book. The starting lines of every chapter are relatable with the events that must have happened once so you feel connected to the story and you can feel what Jace is feeling. There are not too many present and past events taking place continuously so you wouldn’t feel confused. The choice of words is kept simple, so the flow of reading is maintained and you don’t feel like it's going over your head so you actually enjoy reading it.

I would give 4 out of 4 stars. The reason behind this is that there is love, mystery, and thriller all in one. I didn’t get bored at any place, and the event that was taking place made me go on reading without looking at the time. As mystery makes your feeling hyper, true love with little intimation between ally and Jace is showed which I loved. The way the story took a turn, in the end, was unpredictable.

I would recommend this book to people above 18 years who are very fond of thrillers and mystery. I didn’t found any grammatical errors and it was professionally edited. You will feel connected while reading as it happens with a true thriller book.

It’s hard for me to combine a completely ordinary title reminiscent of peace and nature, with mystery and thriller.
