Raptor Canyon is a fantasy novel written by author A.W. Baldwin about a canyon that becomes the eye of a tornado of corruption, deceit, violence, and bravery. Our story begins with three unsuspecting heroes who are soon to be intertwined by forces outside their control. Relic, a hermit who prefers the company of nature and wild animals to the noise of civilization, is making moonshine one day when suddenly he hears a gunshot. Rushing down to the incident site, he finds a man fatally wounded and left to die by two hulking bruisers. Upon slipping down to help the dying man, he hears the man whisper the word hoax before slipping into death's cold embrace.

Left confused and tormented on what to do, Relic begins to investigate the strange occurrence of the man's death and soon discovers strange symbology all over the canyon walls that appeared old but were new. Upon following the men who killed the poor soul on the mountains, he comes into contact with Wyatt, the lawyer assistant to the law firm that owned the canyon. Upon his discovery by Lynch, the firm's owner, Relic is immediately attacked and forced to flee for his life, accompanied by Wyatt, a somewhat timid but well-meaning soul. The duo is later joined by Faye, who is the granddaughter of the original owner of Raptor Canyon, and they begin a harrowing journey to expose the corrupt practices of Lynch and see justice done for the desecration of the canyon and the death of innocents. This exciting tale is the story of Raptor Canyon by A.W. Baldwin.

This book was overall a thrilling read. A.W. Baldwin divided the book into several sections, with each section alternating between different characters and their points of view. Each partition read from a particular character's perspective of the story and thus helped to capture the overall experience of each character with their specific flavors. The author's writing style helped carry me along with the story and feel what each character felt intensely. I was thrilled as I read of Relic's bravery in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds as Lynch's men hunted them down to stop them from releasing his secret to the world. I was proud of Wyatt as he grew into himself and learned from Relic essential lessons that helped shape and strengthen him even when things seemed hopeless.

I liked the fact that amid the action and danger of the tale, the author was able to slip in a few hard lessons that apply to real-life experiences. I came away from this book having learned a lot and feeling optimistic about my future and the choices I needed to make. Relic was my favorite character and, in all honesty, an inspiring person to watch. His rugged honesty and bravery endeared him to me, and I was pleased to see his growth and development as the book went on.

I had no issues with this book, and it was, from top to bottom, a thrilling experience. The text was professionally edited, and I detected no errors in the text, grammatical or otherwise.

I would rate Raptor Canyon by A.W. Baldwin 4 out of 4 stars as it was a great book, and I found no faults whatsoever. I would recommend this book to people interested in archaeological thrillers or fans of the Indiana Jones series as this was very similar to that.

I remember seeing this book featured as BOTD last month! I'm not interested in archaeological thrillers but I enjoyed reading your review.
