Review of E M P Honeymoon
EMP Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom is quite an intriguing book by Dorothy May Mercer. After their wedding, Kelly McBride and Tom Turbulo decide to spend their honeymoon at a resort on the Caribbean island, unknown to them what awaits them. The Honduras private resort that they end up in surprisingly happened to be within their budget range. But what is the catch? The couple is happy and moves on with their honeymoon plans indulging in fun activities. Kelly's adventurous spirit leads her to what looks like a gift shop. But what she discovers in the store will end up changing their entire honeymoon story. From the outside, it seemed just like any regular gift store, but inside there a bunch of terrorists secretly plotting to destroy the US and Canada with dangerous Electro Magnetic Pulse( EMP).
The thrilling introduction of the honeymoon story and the chain of events sets the stage for the main story. It undoubtedly keeps the reader glued to the book page after page, guessing the next move. Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Kenney, a nuclear physics scientist at State University, is hosted on a talk show to discuss the imminent dangers of Electro Magnetic Pulse in the US and its possible devastating effects. I admired how the author takes the reader from one set to an entirely different setting without breaking the suspense. It is thanks to Tom and Kelly and the joint effort of various teams from the CIA, McBride in DC, and the top-secret space team that finally, the lives of millions of North Americans are saved in an action-packed chain of events.
I loved the author's use of engaging dialogs and interactions within the story, which gave the book a realistic feel. Along with the storyline, you can't help but be fascinated by the level of dependency that humans have laid on modern technology. Undoubtedly, any drastic effect on it, such as the Carrington solar flare, will send the whole world crumbling.
It takes hard work and determination to produce such an exceptional copy. The author is immensely talented. I would recommend this book to readers who are into technological, espionage and conspiracy novels. People who love thrilling, action-packed stories will also find the book interesting.
I give the book 4 out of 4 stars because it was exceptionally well-edited, fun, and enjoyable to read. I generally loved reading the book from the beginning to the end. I will hence be sure to read other similar books by the author in the future.
