E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer is an action-packed book on curbing terrorism in America and making the world a better place. It focuses on the themes of patriotism, romance, spying, technology, military, and empathy.

The fast-paced book detailed the honeymoon experience of newlyweds Sgt. Tom Turbulo and Kelly McBride at Honduras. In their individual pursuits of exploring the area, Kelly found her way to the backstreet, stumbled on a gift shop called pigsty, and decided to get some items for her family as the windows exhibited beautiful trinkets. But inside this shop, she noticed some irregularities like unavailable employees and unusual silence. Horns of dilemmas led to further probing into this shop. She discovered six armed men and realized that this shop was not just a souvenir shop; it served as a high-tech computer-based laboratory for foreign-trained terrorists planning to destroy North America. Tom Turbulo further investigates this case, but will team USA foil these terrorists' plans unscathed? Will these discoveries indict any government? Read this masterpiece to find out.

I love the writing style. It is straightforward and humorous. The exciting concepts and technical knowledge on terrorism exhibited were insightful. Also, I admired the concept of service before self demonstrated by Tom and Kelly on their honeymoon.

I learned about the harsh realities couples face when they are in service to their country. The book subtly shows how technology changes how human society functions, develops, and cooperates. The action, concept, spying, and hacking of information methods in this book were quite intense. I admired that the scientific terminologies used in the book were aided with pictures and further explanations. This makes the book insightful. My favorite part of the book is learning from the outstanding leadership of General Lee. Stressing this point might result in me giving out spoilers, but I admire his leadership.

There are a few things I did not like in the book. I think the author could have added some backstory of most characters in the book. Also, I would not say I admire the lack of connection between the newlyweds, Kelly and Tom. The marriage seemed odd to me. For example, Kelly and Tom started their marriage as they went on honeymoon and preferred solo activities. Also, the inability of the author to express the mundane lovey-dovey scenario of this couple on honeymoon reduced the plot's believability.

The book was professionally written, as I observed an error in it. However, it does not distract my reading experience. Therefore, I rate E M P Honeymoon 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to soldiers, teens, and adults that are keen lovers of action-based books.

I agree with you completely, I did feel that it would be easier to understand the characters if we knew their back story. Thanks for a wonderful review.
