Review: 'The One-World Computer' by Brendan Verville

Post by chstress »

This book "The One World-Computer is an interesting sojourn into a futuristic dystopian world. There seems to be plenty of these type of books out there, but this one is special to me because it's written by one of my new favorite Author's. Why, because, Brendan Verville has me wondering, and that's what a good writer does to the reader. Getting a good character is nice, and I do love his characters Parish,Tamera, Colt, Cerise, Jacob and all the 'Blank Slates' who live in the desert soldier training camp called Lennox. Getting an action-filled plot was a bonus; but when I start playing guessing games, matching up against Verville, I know I'm hooked. I could hardly wait to see if Parish actually broke into the "Akashic Records" to learn 'all his identity's or not. And when he does, the subsequent discoveries, that they are most likely slated for human extermination after or during the 'running trials' at age 25 and that this is the karmic repercussions from their past lives. This is a really cool concept in the genre of dystopian worlds. This book definitely left me knowing that there is more to the story-line of this world and it is only a small part of this world was shown to us. Couple that with the fact that their was no real resolution with Parish,Tamera and Colt; one has to wonder what comes next. Especially now that they think they know the truth. But do they? Only a sequel would answer my questions. I would love to know more. When I started to read this book a few hours ago I discovered that it met all of my expectations and even went far beyond what I thought I would get out of reading this book. I absolutely loved and enjoyed this book and will definitely be recommending this book and the author to all of my friends. I can't wait to read his next one.
