Sarina Rose was at her friend's place having an exciting sleepover when something terrible happened. The phone rang, and her friend's mother answered it concerned. Sarina's father called and said her twin sister, Samuella, was killed in her bed. Hana's mother rushed her home, and Sarina could see her mother and father in tears. Why did that happen? Who would hurt and kill an 11-year-old girl? Why didn't the killer choose her instead of her dear sister?

Fifteen years later, Sarina is all grown up, but the memory of her sister never faded away. Having a handsome massage therapist, Duane, she is calm and happy to have someone she can lean on in her life. A weird, unnatural feeling and goosebumps on Sarina's arms make her think her sister wants her to find a killer. Is she insane, or is her sister trying to reach her? Is she going to be able to find the responsible one? Is Sarina going to be safe along the way?

For The Garden is a fantastic mystery that will grab the reader's attention and won't let it go till the end. The author, Lisa Slater, did a magnificent job at developing this masterpiece. Everything is perfect, from the writing style to the character's development. The author thought of everything, and even the unusual details fit perfectly into this book. I was surprised by how the story ended, and it wasn't anything I expected. This book is such a refreshment because it is not a typical mystery or a thriller book. Many twists make it unusual but in a good way. The author vividly described everything with such ease, and it was easy to form the pictures of the characters and the scenery in my head. I am always looking for that in the books, so I was pleased to see the author fulfilled my expectations. My favorite character is Sarina because I find her brave and tough. She went through a lot of trouble to find her sister's killer.

I enjoyed reading this book, and I will read more work from Lisa because I like her style. I have to admit that I will put this book on the list of the best books I have ever read. It honestly exceeded my expectations. The editing job is perfect since I haven't noticed errors in the book. There are a few graphic scenes in it, and the author also used some profane words in the text. There is nothing I dislike about this book.

I am giving this book a solid 4 out of 4 stars. The author developed an amazing story, and it gave me chills. I recommend this book to lovers of suspense and mystery. It is not suitable for the younger readers because the theme is about murder and revenge, and there are some graphic scenes in the book.

Some classic thriller tropes are used as premises in this novel but they seem developed in an engaging way, with great attention to detail. Thank you for your great review!

Based on the title, I thought it was a book with a much calmer plot. I think I'll skip it. Thanks for the great review.

I'm wondering how the garden and a murder mystery reconcile. But, the plot seems intriguing. I'd like to read more about Sarina's journey. Thanks for an awesome review.
