In Dayton, Ohio, five unsolved murder cases occur in the early twentieth century. All of the victims were female. It appears to be a standard murder case until it is discovered that all of the victims were raped and strangled in the same manner. Will they be able to figure out who Jack the Strangler is with their limited resources, unruly neighbors, perplexed police officers, and a large number of suspects?Based on a true story, read Cold Serial: The Jack the Strangler Murders by Brian Forschner.

This is one of those books that you can easily complete in one sitting.A page-turner!I loved how the author depicted the victims' perspectives. It was like putting together a jigsaw puzzle, with each piece of information being crucial to the overall tale.It was very specific.I particularly enjoy how he pays attention not only to the victims, but also to the people who surround them.Particularly, the victims' family's reactions and coping techniques,as well as the changes in their life and the behavior of their neighbors.I particularly enjoy the perspective of the police officers in the story, which includes their various theories and processes. It gives you the impression that you are a witness as well, and that you are working together to solve the crime.

The fact that this is a true story adds to the intrigue of the story, as similar incidents occur all over the world today.I admire the author's desire to see justice done and to honor the memories of these young women. This story is incredibly vivid, especially in terms of people's opinions at the time.It contributes to the story's relatable vibe, in my opinion. There is nothing about this book that I disliked. There are no grammatical flaws, therefore it appears to be well-edited.

The timeline, the locations, and the bits and pieces of information were all intertwined to a single conclusion, and the author's writing style was brilliant. This story will take you through many emotional ups and downs. It had been an exciting ride.It felt like I was in a suspense thriller movie. As a result, I rate it 4 out of 4 stars .

Although this is a must-read, it contains serious material such as rape and murder, therefore it may not be appropriate for younger readers. However, if you are an adult who enjoys books with puzzle-like murder cases that keep you awake at night, this is the book for you.
