While studying to be a Chemical Engineer, Daniel admired a girl named Melinda from afar, but never got the courage up to talk her, let alone ask her out. Until, one day he saw an email request from Melinda for a Chemistry tutor. As they got to know each other, they fell in love and Daniel had planned to marry her.

One night, however, the demon came for her and she died officially of an “allergic reaction” to her prescription. Shortly after, he loses two days’ worth of time and starts seeing Melinda’s demon everywhere. The demon claims it will stop at nothing to destroy him and those he loves. Driven to drink and barely able to finish his degree, Daniel is forced to move back in with his father.

When an old friend named Trent shows up in town and becomes drinking buddies with him, Daniel begins experiencing more and more periods of time where his recollection of events is different from what people say happened. When Trent’s bad accident with the lady posing as Daniel’s demon stalker, Daniel receive a major wakeup call and tries to turn his life around.

The demons from his past, however, and the memory of Melinda are making it really hard for him to start a new life. As he moves to his estranged mother’s place to get some help with his “demon,” his mother tries to tell him that he is an Incarnator, a person who can bring their fears to life. As his “incarnations” get worse, however, Daniel is starting to worry that he may be beyond saving. Is he really losing his mind or is what his mother’s saying true? Will he be able to defeat his demons before it’s too late?

This intense thriller will hook reader hook, line, and sinker. Although some of the other characters could use a little more development, the main characters were complex, engaging, and enjoyable. The plot was a little confusing in places, but this fit well with the plot. The paranormal elements and descriptions were vivid and sucked the reader in with each page. The best part of the book was when Daniel was able to fight back against the demon to save his friend, Sky, from getting killed.

Overall, I’d rate this book 4 out of 4 stars, because, despite a few problems, it was impossible to put down. Although I would not recommend reading this book at night for anyone but the most hardcore horror fans, this intense suspense/thriller will make a great daytime read for even the most reluctant reader.

You're welcome. You're right, thanks for the tip, that's a good thing to mention for next time :) In the book, the author says Resurgere Tento is Latin for "I will rise again."
