Duplicity written by Fin C. Gray is a thriller that deals with issues like terrorism, homosexuality, child abuse, and misunderstandings in family.

The main characters of the story are Daniel McIntyre and his father Tom McIntyre. Daniel was having a good life with his father Tom, his mother Alison, and his sister Jenny. A certain incident in his childhood changes him forever. Later his family started to fall apart when his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Tom focused his attention on alcohol ignoring both his children who were sorrowful and grieving. When certain truths about his father were revealed, Daniel starts hating him and considers him to be the reason for his mother's miserable life. He started living a lonely life and began spending his time using drugs and weed. During that time, he met Waqar and falls madly in love with him. But Waqar had his evil intentions. Daniel wishes to have eternal life in paradise with his love Waqar. Daniel being misguided and lonely joins Waqar to fulfill the evil plans so as to get a normal life with him. Daniel returns to Tom before his mission starts. What is his mission and why did he come back to Tom despite hating him? This is a story of Daniel's decisions and their outcomes in life which affect everyone around him. If you want to know more about Daniel, his mission, and his secrets, then go for this book.

The story dealt with complex issues excellently. The idea of using terrorism to gain freedom, the notion that homosexuality is a sin, and the unknown fears and mental dilemma faced by a person is shown in an excellent way. The author made sure that the two sides of each character are portrayed so that we feel love towards the characters even if they did wrong things in their life. For instance, Waqar is being portrayed as a caring man towards Daniel and his family and also as a ruthless man to fulfill his mission. The characters and scenes were explained in detail. The reason why Daniel hates Tom is a suspenseful element in the story. It shows the dark truth of terrorism openly and the lives affected by it.

I loved reading this book and I couldn't find any negative aspects in the book.

I would give it a 4 out of 4 stars. I decided to give a full star rating, as the book was professionally edited and had an interesting story and characters.

I would highly recommend this book to those who love to read thrillers. Sensitive readers must be aware of violent scenes and extreme use of profanity.
