Hattie Vavaseur is a 63-year-old woman, who is suffering from terrible headaches. One day, after a funeral, a chauffeur whisks her away to a mysterious mansion. A mansion she has never seen before, or has she? Hattie can't seem to remember whose mansion this is or why she is here. Upon settling into this peculiar mansion, she realizes something isn't quite right. Hattie is too prideful to ask why she is here and becomes determined to find out why on her own. After spending a few days at the mansion, Hattie learns about the master. The master is the strange man who owns the residence. After being forced by the master, Hattie visits a medium named Vamelda, who reveals appalling news.

After finding out about her unique situation, Hattie regains some of her memories. Not only have her memories came back, but also some of her youth. With more visits to her newfound friend, Vamelda, Hattie continues to learn more about herself. Along with self-discovery, Hattie makes several friends, some of whom are also in the same situation. Being dragged into helping one of these friends, Hattie finds herself tangled in a mystery. Hattie has also been spending quite a lot of time with the master, and to her surprise, she finds herself liking him.

Hattie Vavaseur by M. Rebecca Wildsmith is a paranormal novel with hints of romance. Throughout the story, Hattie uncovers a mystery while learning about her own life and forming an unexpected relationship.

I was captivated by this novel instantly! From the very first page, I knew I was going to love this novel. I liked the writing style, and I feel like it added to the story immensely. I feel like the revelation of Hattie's situation was perfectly done. Instead of disclosing that information at the start of the story, I learned about it alongside her. While I loved Hattie, Vamelda took the cake for my favorite character. Vamelda was very animated and added a sense of humor to the story. I giggled at Vamelda and her antics many times.

I recommend Hattie Vavaseur to readers who love paranormal tales with dashes of mystery and romance. I felt this novel had a perfect balance of romance and mystery.

One of many positive aspects for me about this novel was the character development. At the beginning of the story, Hattie is very prideful and stuck in her ways. As time goes on, there is an obvious change in Hattie, which I liked. I have no negative views about this fantastic novel!

Hattie Vavaseur earned a 4 out of 4 from me. I award this novel this rating because there wasn't a second it didn't intrigue me! I loved following Hattie and Vamelda while they navigated their way through an intense journey. This novel has become one of my favorites! I found no grammatical errors to distract me from enjoying this novel.
