Trophy Target “A Lethal Solutions Thriller” written by Allen Mitchum is an exceptional political fiction. This book tells about an adventure, familial loyalty, friendship, power and greed. It’s mostly common for people in power, especially in politics to accumulate more of what they already had and use any means necessary to accomplish their goal and feed their never ending greed no matter what the cost and consequences. This book tells these kinds of things and it makes you wonder if these situations truly exist in our society.

A mysterious soldier of the French military has gone missing in the jungle of French Guiana. What appears to be a common disappearance turns out to be a deadly game of politics. Unknown to his superiors, the soldier happens to be the supposedly missing crowned prince of Denmark, Prince Michael Rohde. Upon learning of his disappearance, his brother Prince Erik together with his advisor, Holger Dahl appealed to the Danish Prime Minister to put together a search and rescue mission for his brother. The Prime Minister and her trusted constituents, however, didn’t think that it was the best course of action considering he’s royalty and they think it wouldn’t do any good when their citizens and the prince’s captors would learn of that fact and would use it more to their advantage. Prince Erik was determined to find his brother with or without the help of the Danish militia. He seeks the services of a trained ex-Saudian military turned assassin name Fadi Khaldun. He puts his faith in Khaldun’s ability to track his brother and they worked together to find the crowned prince. In seeking for answers, the prince discovers unsettling truths on some of their manipulative officials. Meanwhile, Khaldun unexpectedly gained allies and friends that would help him in his mission.

I rarely read political fiction because my knowledge of politics is limited. I prefer to watch movies with this type of genre than to read it because it’s easier for me to understand. When I first read the title I thought it was a military fiction about a war or something like that. I was worried I’ll be bored and have a difficult time reading but this book enthralled me from the first chapter to the last. I was greatly pleased that I had enjoyed reading this. I like the plot of the story and its characters. It was easy to picture out the fight scenes, the ambiance and the characters in the book while reading because the author wrote it vividly. I also like the flow of the story; it was suspenseful and fast-moving. The author wrote it in a way that you have to guess along while you read.

While I found this book entertaining, there’s just one thing I dislike about it. There are a couple of chapters that the author miswrote the actual character in the narration. Maybe it was the editor’s mistake but the names sometimes were mixed up. It tends to be confusing and I have to stop and repeat the whole paragraph to make sure that I was reading it right.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. Other than the mixed up names, I truly enjoyed reading this and would definitely recommend it to anyone that love thrillers. It would put you on edge while reading this.

I enjoyed your review. I'm like you. I would rather watch about a political thriller than read it, but you made this book sound worth checking out. Thank you for sharing.
