Demon Freaks is a fictional novel written by J.R.R.R (Jim) Hardison. The book is about the adventure of the Slaughter twins and their band members.

Ronald and Bing are the Slaughter twin brothers who love music more than their education. They need a good score in their college admissions exam, which is critical to getting into a top-ranked school. Their parents want them to pursue a career in McDonald if they fail their exams. The twins want to try by all means to avoid this, but they have to pass William Jeffrey Broy’s history class. The twins and their band members dislike their history teacher because he looks strange and always picks on them.

Their exam is the next day and the twins and their band members had a group reading session at their rehearsal arena. Things started going out of hand when a total blackout occurred and they started seeing weird things. This led them on a grand adventure that made them have a physical confrontation with the Servants of Darkness. Why were they battling the Servants of Darkness? What does the future hold for all of them? What will be the outcome of their exams? A read of this book will answer all these questions.

The author's descriptive ability is top-notch, as he was able to describe some scenes which allowed me to picture what he described. The scene in which the Twins and their friends were disturbing the history teacher’s class was interesting and relatable. Hardison also made sure that the lyrics of the song included in the book can be differentiated from the rest of the story. The song lyrics were written with italics and it has its own humour, seriousness and message. The author also included various characters that are lovable and interesting to read about. I enjoyed reading the character of the Twins as they are similar in some things and different in others. Harrison used the story to show the bond that exists between the twins and their crew members, as they will do all it takes to save each other. This showed the value some individuals placed on friendship. All these made me enjoy this book.

I dislike nothing in this book as the novel was interesting and fun to read. The book was professionally edited with no errors noticed. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because of the above reasons. I recommend this book to lovers of a fun-filled fictional novel with an interesting twist. It was enjoyable to read.
