"A Match Made in Hell" by Terri Garey

Post by Carolynemery33 »

Hello all,

I was recently surprised by my boyfriend with a Terri Garey book called "A Match Made in Hell". After he purchased this book, he realized it was part of a series. This particular book is the second of the series. After reading this book though, I am ready to find the others in the series and dive right in.

This was the first time I read anything by Terri Garey and her writing style was very nice. I loved the playfulness with the characters and how easy it was to follow, especially being a book about seeing dead people which could potentially be a complicated story to convey. Terri did it very well.

Nicki Styx, the main character, had a brush with death and is able to see the dead and she has a new look on life and wants to help these lost souls. She has a new boyfriend named Joe Bascombe, who just happens to be the sexy doctor who helped revive Nicki from her closeness to death. She discovers family secrets along the way with the help of some of the lost souls and her newly discovered twin sister. But she soon realizes, not all lost souls are good ones and needs to be careful with who she thinks she's helping.

This book was well written and you can definitely tell Terri did her research on the occult and knows what she's talking about. The last few chapters, I was glued to the book. In fact, it almost made me late to work because I was so engrossed in it and didn't want to put it down so I could see how it ended. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this book at first because usually not my style of reading selection, but I can't wait to find the rest of the series and get to work with the other parts of the Nicki Styx Mystery Series.

Thanks,
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn
I have never read anything by Terri Garey either but your review suggests maybe I should give it a try.

Nice review. This plot reminds me of Sophie Kinsella's Twenties Girl. Though both are totally different but still. Sounds like a nice story. Adding to my to read list. Thanks. :)
