Daniel persuades himself in finding his life path after dealing with intense life trauma. After losing someone very close to him, he refuses to take help from anyone but his love whose words he’s destined to follow. Tom, Daniel’s father is fighting his own battles at so many levels, dealing with grief, founds himself distancing from his family. Unaware and always eager to know about what his son is doing, he tries to connect with him but even after much tries, he fails to gain his son’s empathy. He doubts himself as a parent and as a husband when he starts losing control of his world. It shattered him when he came to know the final path his son took for himself.

Duplicity by Fin C. Gray is a debut novel and is very well written. With each character thoroughly explained, it feels like you’re living the story. With a blend of suspense, family feuds, wrong influences, it shapes the story very well. Impressive how each character’s part takes twists and turns. I liked that how by just reading the first 20 pages of the book, you will know that this is an interesting plot. I liked the part about how the prologue was presented; it makes you think about where and how the story will go.

The thing I love the most about the story is its diversity, how it covers different concepts of reality. I found it interesting that various societal issues were covered in the novel. Another thing I found fascinating was how the story balances between past and present such that it makes it hard to lose concentration. The story keeps you hooked and there’s the urge to know what happens next.

I did not find any negative aspects worth mentioning. The novel has nice suspense and reflects on really important issues. Close and very well descriptive point of view of characters made it special. Though I should mention that the novel contains some disturbing crime scenes.

I will rate duplicity 4 out of 4 stars; for being very well written. The author’s writing skills are amazing and there were not many errors to be found. The story was interesting and suspenseful. The unexpected outcomes make the story so better.

For any fans of crime thrillers, this is a must-read. The novel will appeal to people who are interested in reading about homosexuality, terrorism, romance and psychological thriller. I will also recommend this to anyone who’s looking to read a new concept.
