Reality-fiction writer Dorothy May Mercer had my full attention from chapter one till the very end of her action-packed novel E M P Honeymoon. Kelly and Tom Turbulo are on their honeymoon in Honduras, and they expect to have fun, relax and take a break from anything work or stress-related. Instead, they run into terrorists and suddenly become undercover agents in a mission that could spell doom for their beloved country if they fail.

The arrogant and hot-tempered Dear Leader sees a weak spot in the US defense system and believes it is the opportunity he has been waiting for to finally prove the superiority of his underestimated country, and he immediately pounces on it, setting the stage for a very interesting series of events. His display of confidence even in his ignorance was quite interesting and painted a realistic and amusing picture as it is a trait often exhibited by proud people. Undercover soldier, Su-Jin, is ready to obey orders and please Dear Leader so she commits to a daring and risky mission.

Although Su-Jin is a villain in this book, I enjoyed seeing things through her eyes, and the realness with which she expressed her surprise at a lot of things which westerners find normal was refreshing. For instance, how she opted to leave her towel tied around her waist even though she was wearing a dress because she didn’t want her thighs exposed. The odd way she responded to the friendliness and openness of other tourists was interesting, relatable, and funny. I enjoyed how well she was used to depict the culture shock often experienced by many people when visiting another country for the first time. There weren’t any dull moments as different things were always happening and there was always something to uncover.

I enjoyed the fast pace of this book and it was maintained throughout. I also enjoyed the fact that I wasn't limited as I got to see things through the eyes of different characters. It was easy to switch from point of view to point of view because the different sections were properly and clearly titled. There was a light amount of romance, innuendos were used, the language style was simple and clear. It didn’t take me long to read this book as the pages are just a little over 200 pages. If you are looking for a light and easy read, this is a good choice. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the errors were minor. Therefore, I rate it a 4 out of 4 stars, having found no negative aspects.

E M P Honeymoon is simply a delight for lovers of action books like myself. Therefore, I recommend this book to every action-loving person. If you love following clues and solving mysteries then I recommend this book to you too, the first chapter will awaken your curiosity and have you glued to this book.
