When Harmony Piper doesn't show up for work, only a few even notice. When everyone close to her starts popping up dead, however, the police take notice. Jack Hart is recruited by the local police department to assist in the investigation, using his analytical attorney mindset to evaluate evidence and suggest suspects. After being attacked and nearly killed multiple times in one day, however, it becomes increasingly clear that Harmony isn't the only one involved in the mystery. All Good Things by Rosemary Reeve combines the investigative world of police work with the analytical world of the justice system, using both to answer the question that started it all: What happened to Harmony Piper?

I loved this book. I was entranced by the mystery from the very beginning and found that I couldn't put it down. Most crime novels only show the investigation that eventually solves the mystery, skimming over the prosecutorial aspects of a criminal justice case. By having both the main character and the victim be attorneys, however, this other side of criminal investigation was allowed to be explored in a way that holds the attention of the reader without coming across as technical and boring.

From a developmental perspective, I have no notes for improvement. My only negative reaction to this book has absolutely nothing to do with the aspects of writing and everything to do with being an animal lover who doesn't like to see or read about one being hurt. Even this one tiny thing, however, doesn't bother me all that much because it was integral to the development of the plot and was well executed.

Overall, this novel is extremely well written. The characters are dynamic and interesting, the mystery flows nicely and always keeps you on your toes, and nothing feels out of place. In my personal opinion, All Good Things has earned a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

As this is a murder mystery, there are quite a few acts of violence described in this novel that potential readers should be aware of. If you are the kind of person who likes a happy story or an easy mystery, this isn't the novel for you. If, however, you enjoy attempting to solve the mystery yourself as you read and are excited when your theories are proven false, I highly recommend giving this book a read.
