Review of E M P Honeymoon
EMP Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer is romantic science fiction. The book follows the story of a newlywed couple, Kelly and Tom. Both of them are enjoying their honeymoon on a remote Caribbean Island. Kelly, with her natural curiosity, accidentally discovered a mysterious computer lab. She saw at the display screen; the North American power grid. Entangled by this strange conspiracy, Kelly and Tom venture into the unknown dangers it brings. With some help from Agatha and Sharon and a CIA agent. They formed a team that would investigate the computer lab. Will their team be able to prevent a coming disaster from an Electro-Magnetic Pulse attack?
As a successful writer, Dorothy knows well how to captivate her readers. The story starts with an intriguing introduction. It piques the curiosity of its reader right away. I even finish perusing the book in just one sitting. The author excellently describes the character's profile and each setting. The dialogues are full of life, and the Spanish discourses are superb. Likewise, I like most the personality of the young scientist, Kim Jung Lo. He has an admirable disposition and attitude. He knows well the dangerous effects of a nuclear explosion on humanity. He sabotages the evil plans of Dear Leader for that reason.
Furthermore, the scientific explanation of what is an Electro-Magnetic Pulse was incredibly informative. The written information about those scientific terms was helpful. Additionally, I like how the author has included the significance of technology. In some scenes in the book, the advantages of technology are well-explained. Also, the dangerous misuse of these technologies as well.
Nevertheless, there is a part of the book that would confuse a reader. In the introduction, Kelly describes as Senator Michael McBride's youngest sister. Yet, on page 57, Cynthia referred to Kelly as Senator McBride's daughter. I have only noticed one minor error. It's the misspelled name of Kim Jung Lo on page 142. Still, the book was well-edited.
In conclusion, I give EMP Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer a 4 out of 4 stars. I did not deduct one star for one confusion because it did not affect my enjoyment in reading the book. Also, the book's intriguing storyline is the principal reason. It was certainly an engaging book. I prescribe this remarkable book to all science fanatics. Science fiction and romance book lovers will doubtlessly partake in this book, especially to the avid reader of Dorothy's McBride series.
