Review of Mixed Blessings
J.M Muse wrote Mixed Blessings. This is a fictional novel about multiethnic identity, race, and prejudice. The book shares the experiences of people from diverse backgrounds and different colors. In this book, Kimberly Solberg is of mixed race, and she was looking for happiness with a guy who loves her, and the honorable Michael Kublai Khan seeks a better life for his people to be free of domination and discrimination. In Los Angeles, the two main characters' lives became entwined as they confronted racial hatred and other concerns.
The author gave an interesting account in this book about racial prejudice and other issues that exist between blacks and whites in America. This book contains a large number of characters who play interesting roles. The story of Kimberly, who had a Jewish mother and a Mexican father, was introduced at the start of the novel. The book has many intriguing contents that will stimulate the reader's curiosity. It also discusses multicultural issues and experiences.
On the positive side, I enjoyed reading this book because of the author's engaging stories. The characters' stories were intriguing, and they attracted my interest. I enjoyed the narrative about Jorge and Kim, who was less aware of what she was doing with Jorge. I enjoyed reading that section since it piqued my interest. When I read about the sad incident that happened to him, I was caught off guard. He got what he deserved.
I was especially moved by the heartwarming story of the black people. As a mixed-race person, I could empathize with their difficulties. I enjoyed how the book discussed race and racism, as well as the troubles that resulted from it. I also loved how the author transitioned from one character to another to give readers a comprehensive grasp of the character's position in the novel and how they are related to other people.
On the negative side, I dislike the way the author keeps switching from Kim to Kimberley. When I started reading the book, I was perplexed. Because of the way the names were presented in the novel, I taught Kim and Kimberley were two separate people. However, after reading the next section of the novel, I realized that Kim was Kimberley.
I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I enjoyed reading it, and it had an intriguing and compelling story.
The book was exceptionally well edited and well written. The sentences were well structured, with enough attention-grabbing sentences to pique the interest of the readers. I discovered no errors when reading this book.
This is a book I would recommend to adults. People who enjoy books about race and racism will appreciate this book.
