How true can you stay to your work, craft, or belief? The answer can only be known when faced with life situations that may need us to bend our rules.

Mikalla is the conjurer in the Idaza kingdom, and he is good at creating stories and beliefs. These stories motivate everyone in the kingdom and help them bond and unite. Mikalla and his crew members entertain the people of Idaza kingdom weekly with his ceremonial show. Everything was smooth until King Oro commanded Mikalla to weave a tale using his convincing power of storytelling to convey a wrong message to the people. The effect of this story will create enmity between the people of Idaza and their neighbors, Chihopo, which may lead to war and bloodshed. This is a hard nut for Mikalla to crack because it's contrary to what he stands for. On the performance day, everyone gathered, including the king and his aids. There was so much tension in the minds of King Oro, Mikalla, and his crew. Would Mikalla do as the king had commanded? Or would he rather disobey the king and risk banishment?

The Conjurer by Nick Oliveri is such a captivating story, and I must commend the author for his creativity in storytelling. The author skillfully created suspense early enough, which raised my curiosity, and I was eager to know what Mikalla would perform. As the story progressed, I was overwhelmed with a heightened feeling of excitement and surprise. I found myself invested and blown away by the story, and I believe prospective readers would feel the same. I also like how the events gradually unfold unexpectedly. The twist at the end of the story was so unpredictable. I honestly didn't see it coming. The aspect I enjoyed most about this book is how the author maintained the suspense from beginning to end.

Furthermore, the author did well with his excellent narration skills. I loved that he gave enough information about every character, which helped me relate to them as if I knew them personally. I could feel their worries and fears, especially when Mikalla was battling with the task given to him. Readers would like Mikalla's personality. He's intelligent, loved, and has a human face, although people tremble at his voice and personality.

In addition, I enjoyed the authors writing and excellent use of dialogue. He provided a vivid description of events and locations, which helped me visualize every scene and understand the plot perfectly. Readers would also admire the simplicity of the authors writing style.

The editing of this 194-page book is exceptional, and I found no typos in it. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this book and found nothing to dislike in it. Therefore, it deserves a perfect rating of four out of four stars. I recommend this book to adults who enjoy reading fiction stories and don't mind gory scenes and violence.

I’ve always hoped that when faced with a decision similar to Mikalia’s I would do the right thing, but how can anyone be sure? Thanks for the review!

Would be interesting to find out what Mikalla eventually did. We don't know what we're capable of doing till we're caught in-between. Thank you for your review.
