Dig Two Graves: Revenge or Honor by Nick Vellis takes the reader on a suspenseful adventure. When AJ Pantheras's father is murdered, there is no explanation. AJ tries to figure out what happened to his father, with no luck. Then Ceres Savas shows up, telling AJ that he knew his grandfather and father and would like help figuring out what happened to them. AJ does want to know what happened to his father, but is much more interested in the other secret that Ceres exposes: a hidden treasure.

As AJ goes off on an adventure to find the large hidden treasure in Greece, where his grandfather disappeared, he must hide his intentions from Ceres. AJ doesn't want Ceres to know that he just wants to find the treasure and get out of there for fear that Ceres will not show him how to get to it. Along the way, they meet others who help them out and who aren't looking out for their best interests.

The reader also gets to read the story of AJ Pantheras's grandfather, John, who is an American soldier in Greece. There are really two stories that tie together into one. It is formatted so that the reader gets about three chapters of AJ and then three chapters of John Pantheras. Ceres Savas tells AJ about his grandfather's days in Greece during World War II and how they knew each other as their adventure goes on. Although Ceres Savas is not certain he can trust AJ, he is the only person he has left to figure out what has happened.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit, even though it did take me a while to get through. The characters are likeable and I was able to tie things together between the two different protagonists. There was a lot of action and suspense and even some romance. I did like the story of AJ better than the story of John though, as John's wasn't as interesting and captivating to me. It also focused a lot on history, which to me can get boring. However, if you love history and a mystery, you should really like this book!

I would rate Dig Two Graves: Revenge or Honor by Nick Vellis a 3 out of 4 stars. The book would be enjoyable to a wide audience because it has so much to offer. It also keeps you guessing until the end.
