Review of E M P Honeymoon
EMP Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom is written by Dorothy May Mercer. This novel depicts bravery, valor, love, and the act of fighting for one's nation no matter what the cost. Colonel Rhee Su-Jin and her commander, Dear Leader, were planning a terrible terrorist strike on US soil in Honduras. They had no intention of blowing up a city, but rather of attacking US satellites in space. The destruction of the satellites would result in a nationwide blackout in the United States. Tom Turbulo and Kelly McBride, a newlywed couple, were on their honeymoon in Honduras at the time this group of terrorists was plotting this attack. Kelly McBride was strolling across town when she came across a store across the street. She intended to go to the shop and buy some toys. She did note, though, that the shop was deserted. What would cause a shop in the heart of town to be so deserted? She was perplexed. She was wandering around the store when she came into a room crowded with screens and monitors. Dorothy May Mercer's EMP Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom is a wonderful thriller.
I found the author's writing style to be pretty intriguing, and I believe she is a competent writer. The story was told in the third person, and the characters were well-developed. The use of comedy is one of my favorite aspects of this book. A thriller with a sense of humour is a winning combo for a great story. In addition, the author used storytelling approaches to present scientific phenomena to her readers and the general public.
Until I read this book, I had no idea what an electromagnetic pulse was. She did an excellent job explaining and introducing these phenomena. I thought the notion of utilizing Professor Kinney Peter as a character to explain this was a good one. Another aspect of this novel that I admire is the characters' willingness to fight for their country despite the fact that they are in a situation that prevents them from doing so. Sgt Tom Turbulo and Kelly McBride had just married and were scheduled to be on their honeymoon when the attack was planned.
Instead of ignoring what they found and focused on their honeymoon, they recognized they needed to fight first. This was a character trait in the novel that I found relatable. I really enjoyed the growing romance between Steve and Sharon, despite the fact that I had high expectations for the pair. There was nothing about this book that I didn't like. I also feel the book was professionally edited, as there were no faults that I discovered. As a result, I will give EMP Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom by Dorothy May Mercer four out of four star rating.
I wholeheartedly suggest this book to everyone who like suspenseful thrillers with a hint of romance and adventure. This book will appeal to everyone who enjoys traveling. The book is error-free and stylishly written in easy-to-understand English. If you enjoy action novels, give this one a try. It is fast-paced, and I am confident that you will enjoy it.
