Kelly and Tom are newlyweds enjoying their honeymoon on a paradisiac island located in Honduras. One day, Kelly decides to explore the island and finds herself in a gift shop to get some presents for her family. Curious by nature, and seeing no one is around, she goes deep into the shop’s installments. To her surprise and astonishment, in front of her eyes computers, monitors with missiles prototypes, and maps of the United States and Canada are widely displayed. Shocked, Kelly attempts to leave the place when a man grabs her from behind. Luckily, Kelly manages to escape from her persecutor.

Back in her hotel, she shakingly calls her brother, senator Mike Mcbride, who, concerned about her little sister´s safety, sends two women to guard the newlyweds. Far from forgetting about the gift shop´s incident, the group of four carry out further investigations to discover, and possibly stop, the terrorists´ plan. Determined to find out the truth, the group heads to the gift shop. However, they notice the presence of a man who is also investigating the possible terrorist attack. Soon, they all join forces and become the “Team USA”. Will they be able to unveil the terrorists’ identities and stop the missiles that threaten to destroy the US?

The first thing I was gladly surprised while reading E.M.P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer was that the novel seems to be professionally edited or written. I found the book very easy and enjoyable to read. Despite being charged with a bunch of technological and political concepts; the reader does not need to be fully acquainted with complicated terms in order to fully understand the story. In fact, the role that scientists, militaries, and politicians play is perfectly explained so that the reader can smoothly follow up the sequence of events.

As the main plot is preventing a group of terrorists from attacking the US, many organisms are involved. What I found entertaining about this book was that the reader can spy on every single point of view. Such is the case that you find yourself reading about the honeymooners and their team, the terrorists, the Space Forces, the presidential department of the United States, and the DEA all within a couple of pages and with a graced transition.

All stated, I could not find any negative aspect in this novel. Actually, I wolfed the book in less than two days. I have no doubt this book can be enjoyed by teenagers and adults alike since it is highly entertaining and contains almost no profanity. Suffice it to say, I rate E.M.P Honeymoon with a shining 4 out of 4 stars.
