Ralph, Josie, Rusty, and Bud share an unusual love for horror movies, horror paraphernalia, and everything associated with them. They stock up on books, special-edition pieces from classic movies, and anything worthy of placement on their bedroom walls and desktops. This unusual bond led to the formation of an interesting group with an even more interesting name. "The Creeps," as they called themselves, had looked out for each other ever since Bud's mother was murdered in mysterious circumstances. He still had nightmares about that harrowing night. But it was the strange messages that kept coming to him in bits and pieces that he couldn't make out. Little did he know that something far worse than Frankenstein's monster lurked in the shadows, waiting to strike.

There's Blood On The Moon Tonight is an intense, bone-chilling horror story. The setting is in present-day America. The source of the danger itself is so commonplace that you can be forgiven for looking over your shoulder furtively once you're done with reading this book.

Bryn Roar uses the normalcy of the mundane to make the hair stand up at the back of the reader's neck. His style of writing, which is very graphic and particularly detailed in every facet, is truly unique. It puts a reader through the sensation of feeling they are the ones experiencing the events in the book. Here's an example: "What can a nine-year-old boy do against a monster like that? A fiend that exists only in the darkness?" The author carefully chose his words to evoke the right kind of emotions.

The characters are pretty well developed. Using singular events in their backstories to tie them into each other like a thinly veiled spider web adds to the suspense in the book. The language in the book is unique because there is a little bit of everything one will expect in a backwater American settlement of this sort. There is a certain comedic edge to the interchanges, and I'm sure there are sections where readers will have no choice but to pause to laugh off the implications of some actions in the book. Even though the majority of the humor borders on the dark side, they still manage to give the book a light-hearted feel every now and then.

Horror story aficionados will not be disappointed with what this book offers. The storyline is right up their lane and keeps in tune with their reading expectations. Non-fiction readers will enjoy the suspense in the book as it keeps you on edge to the very end.

With its intriguing storyline and Bryn Roar's exceptional storytelling technique, There's Blood On The Moon Tonight delivers on its promise in epic fashion. The author's attempt at paying homage to some of the horror genre greats, such as Stephen King, is adorable to see. It's also nice to see that the editing is quite good, though a few minor errors are made. With nothing to dislike, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

The plot sounds horrifying. At first, when I saw the title, I thought it will be a werewolf story, not knowing it was even more than that. It’s best suited for people that love horror stories.
