Set in the 80s, Hattie Vavasuer revolves around Hattie our protagonist who is dead. Unaware of this situation she finds herself in a series of mysterious events which lead to more links towards her past. In the process she meets a Clairvoyant- Vamelda who helps her uncover these mysteries of her afterlife and help her solve those. Hattie Vavasuer showcases Hattie's journey and how she fights the obstacles together with the new friends that she meet during this journey trying to make peace with her situation.

Hattie Vavasuer by M. Rebecca Wildsmith is a brilliant story with short and sweet flow of events with no elongations or fillers. I found the straight-forwardness of the story likable. The best part was how the author described the events, it envoked an imagery in front of me which made it more enjoyable. Not to mention how cleverly the author unfolded the events one can never be ready for the turns. I found the way every character is designed to be fascinating as well, they had a pull and push relationship. It was also interesting how the story panned out, always baffled me on what had to come, it would be unexpected and surprising. Though a short read that one could complete in one sitting, it was fantastic.

There were times when it became hard to grasp as to what was taking place, and link the events towards the storyline. Other than that I didn't find anything that I disliked in the story.

Surprisingly enough the characters were all likable apart from the antagonists ofcourse, but the character that stood out the most for me was Syd, even in the short span of time she had the spotlight. Syd stood out because of her fearless and straight to the point traits. One can definitely look forward to every character that enters the scenario, they are well written, showing some shallow and some deep beings one can find in real life. Have to mention how much I have hated Lydia, that just shows how well her character was crafted.

Hattie Vavasuer is an excellent read that I would rate 4 out of 4 stars. A blend of mystery, thrill and romance that keeps you on the toe. I would recommend it to mystery with romance lovers who would like the tinge of fantasy in it. Though short but Hattie Vavasuer contains everything, from comedy to drama to emotional to action.
